Future of Bookstores?

The Espresso Book Machine prints books for customers while they wait and may be key to future survival for small, independent bookstores.  Once the catalog of books available by this method grows, bookstores could easily compete with Amazon. A lovely part of the bookstore experience is browsing through books, though,  so I sure hope this machine never replaces books on the shelf — or bookstore coffee.  [Boston Globe]
