by Mary Ann de Stefano on March 7, 2011

On May 7, 2011, The Jack Kerouac Project of Orlando partners with MAD about Words to offer you the opportunity to meet and write with the writer-in-residence at Kerouac House. Join us for:

On the tip of your tongue.

A workshop in how to stimulate your senses. Current Kerouac fellow Ellie Watts-Russell will explore the power of taste, sound and touch as artistic triggers.

Ellie Watts-Russell is a British fiction writer and graduate of the University of London’s Creative Writing programme at Royal Holloway. In 2006 she was appointed Writer-In-Residence at HMP Ashwell, an all male Category C prison, leading creative projects with prisoners, part of an Arts Council initiative to encourage literacy behind bars.

Also moonlighting as a food journalist, Ellie has written features for Jamie Magazine as well as reviewing for Time Out, London.

A newcomer to the USA, Ellie currently lives in the Windy City where she is working on her second novel. She is represented by Simon Trewin at United Agents.

Space is limited. Reserve early
