Shut Up & Write

Loose lips sink manuscripts

It’s funny. We love to write. We want to write. We need to write. We long to write.  Yet we find all sorts of ways to avoid doing this thing we love, want, need, and long to do. And then we spend a whole bunch of time talking about how we’re not writing.

woman_pencil4It’s time to Shut Up & Write!
When:
Tuesday, February 23, 2010/4 PM – 7 PM
Where:
Dandelion Communitea Café, 618 N. Thornton Ave., Orlando 32803 One block southwest of Mills & Colonial, right behind Colonial Photo & Hobby

There is no charge for this event, and no registration is required, but if you’re planning to come, it would be fun if you’d let us know.

One way we avoid writing is by gathering with other writers to do writer-like things. And while it’s good to be around writer friends, let’s face it: talking about writing is not writing, reading your writing out loud to an audience is not writing, and classes are only sometimes writing.

So here’s an idea: instead of gathering  to talk about it, why don’t we just quietly write together? For the second time, MAD about Words is partnering with Dandelion Communitea Café to give you time and space for your poems and stories to happen.

We’re not going to charge a fee. We’re not going to talk about anything. We’re not going to read anything out loud. We’re just going to write! (Quietly. Together.)

Bring your notebooks and laptops; meet up with your writer friends; enjoy the fabulous menu at Dandelion Communitea; feel the energy; and shut up and write!
