Literary agent Rachelle Gardner’s Back to the Drawing Board post validates why when potential clients contact me for an “edit,” I often suggest they need a manuscript evaluation (a roadmap for revision) instead.

Rachelle says to “have fun with” the rewrite. I know some of you will think I’m sick, but for me, rewriting (fixing) is more fun that creating (making something from nothing). But if you can’t have fun with rewriting, at least look at it as an opportunity for your work — one that may just open some doors for you.
